Login Security Monitoring checks whether your password may have been exposed elsewhere online and proactively requests you to change your password, reducing the risk of compromising your account and adding another layer of account security.

Appier blocks the login attempt if your password may have been exposed elsewhere online and could be at risk, then guides you to reset it.
If your password has never been exposed, nothing changes for you.

How Login Security Monitoring works

If your password may have been exposed elsewhere online and could be at risk, Appier blocks the login attempt and notifies you by email containing a password reset link. To regain access, reset your password using the link in the email.

Receiving a notification doesn't mean your Appier account was compromised. Credentials are most often exposed elsewhere, for example through malware on a personal device or at another website you use. We flag it as a precaution so you can keep your account secure.

Password best practices

A strong, unique password is your best defense against account takeover. When setting your password, consider the following.

Use a passphrase of 15+ characters. A longer passphrase (for example, four or five random, unrelated words strung together) is both easier to remember and harder to crack than a short, complex password.
Use a unique password for every site. Never reuse a password from another service. If one account is compromised, reused passwords put all your other accounts at risk.
Avoid personal information. Don't include names, birthdates, or other details that can be guessed or found publicly.
Use a password manager. A password manager can generate and store long, unique passphrases for you, so you don't have to remember them all.
Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA). MFA adds a second layer of protection even if your password is ever compromised.
